Rosedale Report

Saturday morning dawned bright and early and with it came the first "ride" of the spring, the Rosedale Ride. This ride is in its 13th year and the money raised benefits the Rosedale school which is a school for children with disabilities. Now on the the ride...I ended up doing the ride with my friend Dave Hinojosa and had planned to do it with another buddy but he bailed at the last minute. Oh well, his loss.

Ride recap...we had originally planned to do the 42 miler but the weather was nice and the legs were fresh so decided to ride the 65er. Turned out to be a pleasant day in the mid 70s, the only issue was the wind. Boy was it windy, but I guess in the long run riding in wind makes you stronger. We ended up averaging 17.0 mph with moments of strength and weakness out of both of us. Hino can really power up those hills, and when asked admitted that he hates hills and that is why he goes up them so quickly. Sounds like good logic to me.

I love the Rosedale and will probably do it every year as all the volunteers are very appreciative of the riders and are some of the nicest people you will find on any sponsored ride.
