Pretty much this whole summer I stopped running as out of all the aerobic activities it is probably my least favorite. However, it is one of the best cardio exercises out there. I recently signed up for the Nike Human Race 10K and even though I am not trying to run a good time, I know I will be disappointed in myself if I do not at least do some training. So today it was out for a four mile run. One of the things I am working on is trying to run on the balls of my feet as compared to being an extreme heal striker. Even though I feel I am much faster running on the balls I can only seem to maintain this for 2 to 2.5 miles before I revert back to my "normal" running style. I assume that since it is a new style I am working different muscles and they tire quicker.
Oh well I guess I am pseudo back together with my wicked ex-mistress running.
So today was 4 miles at roughly a 9:20ish pace, very slow compared to my running friends but not too bad for me, especially since I am just getting back into it.

You'll definitely be relying on your calves a lot more, so ice, stretch & rest them - a lot.
